New Jersey’s Swedish Candy: One Tiny Shop in Princeton

New Jersey is a study in contrasts: the state’s only dedicated Swedish candy shop is a shoebox-sized counter in Princeton, while a Bergen County importer runs a 100,000-square-foot warehouse nearby. A Hoboken location has been announced but had not opened as of October 2026. Small state, short guide.

Tiger Treats: downtown Princeton

33 Witherspoon St, Princeton, NJ (corner of Witherspoon and Spring) · tigertreatsweets.com · Sun 11:30–5, Tue–Thu 11:30–6, Fri–Sat 11:30–7 (closed Monday) · (833) 809-3456

Classic pick-and-mix: bag and tongs, pay by weight at the register. Owner Sean Albert’s tiny shop (fits about 5–6 people) stocks Swedish Fish in bigger sizes and more flavors than the American version, watermelon skulls, fizzy apples, Marabou bars and rotating seasonal treats, bins labeled with country of origin and sweet/sour ratings. Covered by The Daily Princetonian in October 2025.

Hoboken: announced, not open

Lil Sweet Treat, the viral NYC brand, announced a Hoboken location on April 3, 2026 (Hoboken won a fan vote over San Francisco for the next store). As of October 2026 there’s no confirmed address or opening date. Watch this space; until it opens, Princeton is the only option.

Context: the Bergen County importer

Goodis, based in Carlstadt NJ, is a Swedish candy importer with a 100,000-square-foot warehouse, co-founded by Bergen County’s Timothy Akguc, e-commerce only, no physical storefront. IKEA Elizabeth carries LÖRDAGSGODIS in its Swedish Food Market (grocery context, not a candy store).
